Who Is This Program For?
Sports Coaches and Athletes
Let’s face it….. coaching this era of young athletes requires different skill sets to previous generations. Have you noticed the “yell and tell approach” just doesn’t work? And the digital era means there are so many distractions. A lot of young people think having natural talent is all they need. They want instant gratification and aren’t willing to put in the work. And those that are willing, often suffer from lack of self belief and playing what I call the “compare and despair game” so never develop to their true potential. And then there’s the solo players who refuse to play team because they want to be the star in the spotlight. Oh and the pushy parents. Can you relate?
It’s not easy. These days understanding the game and how to teach the skills is not enough. Do you sometimes feel frustrated:
~ Getting your team to play as one incredibly cohesive bonded unit?
~ Keeping your team motivated, and believing in themselves, especially when they don’t win?
~ Inspiring them to dig deep and do the work?
~ Getting your message through to all the members of your team?
Did you know that we tend to coach in our preferred learning style? So that means you’re highly likely not getting through to at least 1/2 of the members of your team.
Over the past 15 years I’ve had the pleasure of Peak Performance Coaching sporting teams, individual athletes and performers on their success mindset and the results speak for themselves. Below are just a few:
~ An elite women’s basketball team who were coming 5th halfway through the season won the state championship for the first time.
~ A young swimmer shaved 6 seconds off her 200 meters individual medley and came home with 6 gold medals. And four personal bests.
~ After trailing badly half way through the season the boys varsity basketball team won the entire conference beating the team that had beaten them both times throughout the competition by 30 points, wiping them off the court in the first quarter and giving their opposition no chance and setting a record in the process.
My powerful coaching methodologies go well beyond the surface to help individuals and teams discover strengths, unlock potential and make long held dreams of success a reality. I’ve been told on numerous occasions, “Kathryn; what you do far is far more powerful than working with a sports psychologists. You get to the root cause of what’s stopping players from truly shining, blast that out of the water, and set them up for the success that deep down they dream of and deserve.
How Coaching Works.
Exceptional Performance Coaching Sessions are structured to help improve outcomes right out of the gate. Clients have engaged me as part of pre-season conditioning and training programs. However I can also meet a team whatever stage in the season they are. And I’m also a secret weapon during the season for individuals and teams who are struggling with consistency. Every program is unique and each session is tailored to align with your desired goals/outcomes.
Sessions are usually 2 hrs long and results come quickly. Many find four sessions are often enough to show real breakthroughs in performance. However some teams engage me pre-season and throughout the season on a retainer basis.
I’m also available to support individual team members during periods of high stress, or when they’re recovering from an injury and the expectations are high for them to get back to delivering exceptional results.
On young elite female basketball player I had the pleasure of coaching fell and broke her arm in three places. The doctors told her she’d probably never play basketball again. Working with me we had her back on the court within three months. And her doctor was amazed. He told her that her arm was stronger than before she’d broken it.
